Hello and welcome to Weybridge Paws.
I'm Alex and I'm passionate about the beautiful and life-changing relationships we build with the animals in our lives. My approach is compassionate and reward-based.
I have many years of experience with a variety of breeds, including rescued and nervous animals. I've had several dogs, and now have 2 rescue cats. I also had a horse for 4 years so am comfortable around larger animals.
Completing a Diploma in Canine Behaviour with the British College of Canine Studies in 2015 gave me further understanding of working with dogs, but I really am very much a dog and cat person! :)
I previously worked full-time in healthcare as an Occupational Therapist and still maintain my registration through work at a neuro-support charity (www.ins.org.uk) as well as supporting young adults with learning disabilities. I teach Mindfulness a few times a week to various groups as a qualified teacher.
I like to think I bring a calm, compassionate and present approach to my work with animals too. I love the flexibility of my lifestyle - it gives me time in nature with animals, and space to pursue other interests.
I hope you enjoy looking around this site, and you're very welcome to contact me if you have any questions.
Warm wishes,
Alex.
