Cat Care

I wanted to include a page for Cats as people are often seen as dog walkers or cat sitters - but I really am both!

I have two rescue cats (Bonnie and Murphy), who have taught me a lot through understanding their different needs.

Murphy is sensitive, and has some behavioural challenges from his rescue background. These are managed by giving him space when needed, a predictable routine and enrichment activities. This took a lot of work, especially early on. 

Bonnie, despite being abandoned as a kitten is amazingly settled in herself. She is very secure and a great example to Murphy.

I adopted them a few years apart so went through a slow introduction process. Thankfully it paid off and they became a bonded pair - though I have to say their relationship doesn't always look as amicable as the photos below!

I have looked after many cats including nervous or rescue cats. I bring a gentle approach allowing them to engage on their terms. I find this the best way to establish a foundation of trust and bring a closer relationship longer term.
